Dr. Mor teaches Reproductive Immunology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology
Dr. Gil Mor (Project 4: Placental Mammal Model) taught a course on "The Biology of Human Reproduction" at the Institute of Reproductive Health, Tongji Medical College, at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in Wuhan, China. The course attracted more than 50 teachers and students learning in-person, including more than 20 international students from Iran, Tanzania, India and other countries, and more than 30 students via online sycnhronized learning.
The course was a continuation of Dr. Mor's long tradition of teaching international courses at HUST for the past 8 years. This summer's course gave students a deeper understanding of human reproductive biology and the important role that inflammation plays in successful embryo implantation and development. Dr. Mor also discussed the rigor required to conduct scientific research. He compared the challenges of scientific research to his own experience of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, emphasizing the importance of balance between work and rest. After the lecture, Dr. Mor chatted with students and faculty over cake, and watched a vlog about his course made by teaching assistants at HUST.
