Dr. Michael Petriello and trainee Dr. Stephanie Morgan present research at CEECHE in Greece
Dr. Michael Petriello (Research Experience and Training Coordination Core and Placental Mammal Model) and CLEAR trainee Dr. Stephanie Morgan presented their research at the 2024 Central and Eastern European Conference on Health and the Environment (CEECHE), in July at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece.
Dr. Petriello was a member of the scientific program committee for the conference, which was supported by the NIEHS Superfund Research Program and organized by the University of Kentucky's Superfund Research Center. He presented a talk entitled, "Exposure of Ldlr-/- mice to a PFAS mixture and outcomes related to circulating lipids, bile acid excretion, and the intestinal transporter ASBT", while Dr. Morgan's talk was entitled, "PFAS exposure is associated with maternal microbiome form and function during pregnancy". She also won an award for her presentation.
Dr. Petriello also co-chaired a session entitled, "Understanding Environmental and Human Health Impacts of Complex Legacy and Emerging Contaminant Exposures".
Earlier, on June 10, Dr. Petriello presented at an NIH workshop called, "Complementary and Integrative Interventions to Mitigate the Effects of Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals Workshop," held in Bethesda, MD. His talk was entitled, "Holistic biobehavioral intervention decreases circulating PFAS".
