CLEAR Attends SRP Annual Grant Recipient Meeting
The CLEAR team had a strong showing at The National Superfund Research Program Annual Grant Recipient Meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico from December 4-6th. The annual meeting gives NIEHS-funded SRP centers a chance to present research updates and network with other universities and programs engaged in similar work, including among SRP grant recipients, trainees, SRP Program Staff, NIEHS Leadership, and federal/state/local end-users. Several CLEAR projects and cores presented updates and research at the meeting.
Presentations included Dr. Rahul Mitra (Research Translation) and Dr. Lyke Thompson (Community Engagement) on “Assessment of VOC Exposure and Health Outcomes in Detroit. Dr. Lyke Thompson also presented on “Preliminary Results on VOCs in Homes from CEC Collaboration with Families and CLEAR Research Projects.”
Project 1 PhD Student Sarah Black presented on “Developing Novel Ento-Phyto-Screening Methods” Detecting Environmental Chemical Contaminants Using Insect-Induced Galls,” while Project 4 PhD Candidate Annie Nguyen presentation was titled, “Gestational Benzene Exposure Leads to Sexually Dimorphic Alterations in Macrophage Populations along the Placenta-brain Axis.”
